Dolomite grinding process flow

A standard and mature dolomite powder production line follows a four-stage process of "Crushing → Grinding → Classification → Collection", with each link working together to ensure product quality and production efficiency.

1. Dolomite crushing

After mining, dolomite ore usually has a large particle size and cannot be fed directly into the grinding mill. It needs to go through two-stage crushing:

  • Coarse crushing: Large-sized dolomite raw ore (with a maximum particle size ≤ 1,200 mm) is crushed to less than 200 mm by a jaw crusher.
  • Medium and fine crushing: According to the requirements for feeding into the mill, the crushed dolomite is further finely crushed to 20–50 mm by a impact crusher.

Optional pretreatment: For high-mud dolomite ore, add an ore washer to de-sludge and de-water, avoiding impaired grinding efficiency and reduced finished powder whiteness.

2. Mill grinding

The crushed dolomite is sent to the raw material bin by a bucket elevator, and then fed into the dolomite grinding equipment by an vibrating feeder for grinding.

3. Airflow classification

The ground dolomite powder will flow upward with the airflow in the grinding equipment and enter the classification process.

Dolomite powder that meets the fineness requirements passes through the classifier and enters the collection system with the airflow. Oversized dolomite particles are thrown out by the classifier, falls along the cylinder wall, and returns to the grinding chamber for secondary grinding.

4. Finished product collection

Qualified dolomite powder enters the collection device to be collected.
